Andrea Magnani’s Easy got the top prize at the 2017 edition of Annecy Cinéma Italien. A road movie between Italy and Ukraine, the film received the Grand Prix from a jury composed by Claudio Giovannesi, Adriano Valerio, and Edouard Waintrop.

The Audience Award went to Valentina Pedicini’s debut feature Where Shadows Fall, that world-premiered in Venice - Giornate degli autori. Between flashbacks and apparitions, the film tells the childhood of Anna, a young jenisch, in the 1970s Switzerland. The cast include newcomer Federica Rossellini, and Elena Cotta.

Other awards include: Special Jury Prize and Dauphiné Libéré Readers Prize to Michele Vannucci’s I Am a Dreamer, Cicae Award to Suranga Deshapriya Katugampala’s For a Son, Young Jury Prize to Andrea De Sica’s Children of the Night.
