Filming kicked off on Non sono un assassino (litt. “I Am Not a Killer”) on 24 February. Directed by Andrea Zaccariello (Boom, See You Tomorrow), the thriller is an adaption of the best-selling novel of the same name by Francesco Caringella and stars Riccardo Scamarcio (recently seen in John Wick - Chapter 2), Alessio BoniEdoardo Pesce (Fortunata, Pure Hearts, and soon to star in Matteo Garrone’s Dogman) and Claudia Gerini (Love and Bullets and Suburra, also currently in Italian cinemas in There Is No Place Like Home).

Deputy police commissioner Francesco Prencipe leaves his house to catch up with his best friend, judge Giovanni Mastropaolo, whom he hasn’t seen for almost two years. During a two-hour journey in the car, only a few words are exchanged. One question and one answer. That same morning the judge is found dead with a gunshot wound to the head.Written by Zaccariello together with the actor, comedian and songwriter Paolo Rossi (who he has already worked with on See You Tomorrow), the film also stars Barbara Ronchi, Vincenzo De Michele, Caterina Shulha, Sarah Felberbaum and Silvia D'Amico.

Non sono un assassino was produced by Pepito Produzioni and Viola Film with Rai Cinema, with logistical support from Apulia Film Commission. Shooting is due to last five weeks and will take place in Bari, Monopoli and Accadia in the region of Puglia.
