"Cindarella the Cat" in Annecy

Cindarella The Cat is the only Italian film featured in the main competition of the Annecy Animation Film Festival, the most prestigious event of this kind in Europe. This represents another recognition for the all-Neapolitan animation film directed by Alessandro Rak, Ivan Cappiello, Marino Guarnieri, and Dario Sansone, and produced by Mad Entertainment.
The selection in the Annecy competition comes after two David di Donatello Awards in the categories "Best Producer" and "Best Digital Effects". Producers Luciano Stella and Maria Carolina Terzi states: "We are glad to represent Italy in Annecy, a competition which for animations has the same meaning as Cannes for feature films." Annecy opens on June 11th, with over 7.000 industry professional expected from all over the world.
Documentary director Stefano Savona - author of Samouni Road, winner of the Oeil d'Or for Best Documentary in Cannes this year - will attend the 29th edition of FID Marseille, starting on July 10th.
The 64th Taormina Film Festival is taking place from July14 to 20 this year. Produced and organized by Videobank, the festival is directed by Silvia Bizio and Gianvito Casadonte.
A celebratrion for Martin Scorsese, guest of honor at “Il cinema ritrovato” film festival. Under the silver screen set up in a fully-booked Piazza Maggiore in Bologna, the director introduced the screening of Raging Bull, his 1980 masterpiece dedicated to Italo-American boxer Jake LaMotta and starring Robert De Niro.
According to the German media, the Berlin Film Festival has appointed Italy's Carlo Chatrian as its new Artistic Director. Chatrian, head of Locarno since 2013, will replace Dieter Kosslick, who has directed the Berlinale since 2001.
