Giovanna Mezzogiorno awarded in Moscow
Giovanna Mezzogiorno wins Best Actress Award at the 40th Moscow International Film Festival for her role in Naples in Veils by Ferzan Ozpetek, playing in competition and as Opening Film of the festival.
The international jury was headed by Paolo Del Brocco and composed by Russian director Anna Melikyan, John Savage, Nastassja Kinski, and Chinese director Liang Qiao. Back in 2012 another Ozpetek film, Magnificent Presence, won the Audience Award in Moscow. The attendance of Italian films and delegations has been coordinated by Istituto Luce Cinecittà.
Stefano Savona's film, winner of the Best Documentary award at Cannes, will kick off the eighth edition of the festival on 31 May, which is scheduled to take place in Palermo until 6 June
