The winners of the Anteprima competition

Vinicio Basile’s Hanna (2001, Beta, 13’) won the first prize of 15 million lire ($7,500) at the AnteprimaAnno Zero festival at Bellaria. The jury of Paolo Benvenuti, Sandra Ceccarelli, Isabella Santacroce, Pasquale Scimeca and Peppe Servillo chose this film for “the artisan-like passion of animation as a sign of rare creativity in the culture of Italian film". Second, with a cash prize of 7 million ($3,500) was Anselmo de Filippis and Stefano Savona (2000 DV, 23’) for SiciliaTunisia for “the ability of this documentary to capture and express a unique cultural and human reality in pictures". Third was Gabriele Anastasio’s Paolo and Francesco (2000, BetaSP, 21’), winning him 5 million ($2,500) and a special mention for his cast.
The jury of “150 seconds on a given theme" was made up of Francesco Di Pace, Stefano Francia, Enrico Ghezzi and Marzia Milanesi chose Alessandro Spada’s A.I. alla mia generazione out of 15 films submitted to win the 3 million ($1,500) prize and reserved special mentions for Monaldo Moretti’s Nervi.
