The Hand of God by Paolo Sorrentino made it to the Oscar shortlist for Best International Film. The list includes 15 titles.

Sorrentino states: “I am glad to represent Italy at the Oscars. I warmly thank the Committee for choosing my film among so many beautiful works."

18 Italian films are in the run to represent Italy in the category International Feature Film Award at the 94th Academy Awards.

Italy is in the Oscar run with Pinocchio by Matteo Garrone, which landed two nominations, and with The Life Ahead by Edoardo Ponti, nominated for Best Song.

The selection committee appointed by ANICA on behalf of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences have recommended Gianfranco Rosi’s Notturno as the Italian candidate for the 93rd Oscars in the category “International Feature Film Award”. 

Two of Us, by Italian director Filippo Meneghetti, will represent France at the upcoming Oscars.
