Shooting just kicked off in Trieste for Don't Be Afraid if I Hug You, the news film by Oscar-winner Gabriele Salvatores. The film stars Claudio Santamaria, Valeria Golino, Diego Abatantuono and the young Giulio Pranno. Penned by Umberto Contarello and Sara Mosetti, the film is produced by Indiana Production and EDI effetti digitalia italiani with Rai Cinema, in collaboration with Friuli Venezia Giulia Film Commission.

Gabriele Salvatore is back to the road movie, a journey from Eastern Italy to the deserted streets of the Balkans. Loosely inspired by the eponymous novel by Fulvio Ervas, the film tells the extraordinary adventure of a father and his son, and their sweet, fun, problematic, and unconventional relationship. In the words of Salvatores: "The journey, the music, the nameless streets where emotions and feelings are allowed to fly. Rock and roll, indeed! On the road again, it's where I need to go back sometimes."

Shooting will take place between Italy, Slovenia and Croatia for 9 weeks. The film will be released in 2019 by 01 Distribution.
