A new script for Pupi Avati
Stefano Stefanutto Rosa
Avati is working on a script to be adapted from the novel Lei mi parla ancora [lit. She Still
Talks to Me] by Giuseppe Sgarbi, who passed away last year at 97. The novel
tells of the writer’s lifelong love for his wife Rina. Avati commented: “This
topic is very dear to me, since I have been married for 52 years with a woman
without whom I can’t even imagine my life. She has always known me better than
myself.” Avati confirms he discussed the project with Sgarbi’s two sons, art
critic Vittorio and publisher, writer and director Elisabetta.
Gabriele Muccino is about to wrap up the shooting of his new film The Best Years, “a portrait recounting who we are, where we come from, and where our kids will go as well.”
After Call Me by Your Name, Luca Guadagnino will shoot Lord of the Flies.
Shooting for Gabriele Muccino’s upcoming The Best Years has just started in Rome and will continue for nine weeks. The film stars Pierfrancesco Favino, Micaela Ramazzotti, Kim Rossi Stuart and Claudio Santamaria as well as Nicoletta Romanoff and Emma Marrone.
Three men and a woman. A quartet of doctors, so good in the operating room (even the Pope entrusts himself to their care), so bad, fragile and unreliable in their private lives. These are the protagonists of Carlo Verdone’s upcoming film You Only Live Once.
