Director Pupi Avati is working on a script to be adapted from the novel Lei mi parla ancora [lit. She Still Talks to Me] by Giuseppe Sgarbi, who passed away last year at 97. The novel tells of the writer’s lifelong love for his wife Rina. Avati commented: “This topic is very dear to me, since I have been married for 52 years with a woman without whom I can’t even imagine my life. She has always known me better than myself.” Avati confirms he discussed the project with Sgarbi’s two sons, art critic Vittorio and publisher, writer and director Elisabetta.
