Francesco Bruni to open Nuovo Cinema Italia
Francesco Bruni’s Friends by Chance will open the 19th edition of Nuovo Cinema Italia, the festival of
Italian cinema taking place in Vienna from June 13th to 19th.
The event is organized by Made in Italy in collaboration with Votiv Kino, a
prestigious and historical theatre in the Austrian capital, distribution
company Filmladen, and the Italian Institute of Culture, with the contribution
of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities. Bruni will present the
film to the audience and will take part in a Q&A session after the

cities of Graz and Innsbruck. The line-up also includes Manetti Bros.’ Love and Bullets, Riccardo Milani’s Like a Cat on
a Highway, Vincenzo Marra’s Equilibrium,
Sergio Castellitto’s Lucky, Salvatore
Allocca’s Taranta on the Road.
A comedy Mazzacurati-style stands among the 15 films selected for the main competition of the Torino Film Festival dedicated to first, second, and third features that express at best the new tendencies in independent cinema.
The event running 15-24 November will open with Nomad: In the Footsteps of Bruce Chatwin by Werner Herzog and close with Pedro Costa’s Vitalina Varela
