Francesco Bruni to open Nuovo Cinema Italia
Francesco Bruni’s Friends by Chance will open the 19th edition of Nuovo Cinema Italia, the festival of
Italian cinema taking place in Vienna from June 13th to 19th.
The event is organized by Made in Italy in collaboration with Votiv Kino, a
prestigious and historical theatre in the Austrian capital, distribution
company Filmladen, and the Italian Institute of Culture, with the contribution
of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities. Bruni will present the
film to the audience and will take part in a Q&A session after the
After Vienna, the festival will tour to the
cities of Graz and Innsbruck. The line-up also includes Manetti Bros.’ Love and Bullets, Riccardo Milani’s Like a Cat on
a Highway, Vincenzo Marra’s Equilibrium,
Sergio Castellitto’s Lucky, Salvatore
Allocca’s Taranta on the Road.

The 30th edition of FID Marseille (July 9-15) will present 125 films from 35 countries. Italy is represented by Gaia Formenti’s and Marco Piccarredda’s Creature, Whither Goest Thou? in competition.
