EFA: Bellocchio gets 4 nominations
The nominations for the European Film Awards 2019 have been announced in Seville. Marco Bellocchio's The Traitor gets 4: Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor (Pierfrancesco Favino), Best Screenplay (Marco Bellocchio, Ludovica Rampoldi, Valia Santella, Francesco Piccolo).
Moreover, Agostino Ferrente's Selfie and Beniamino Barrese's The Disappearance of My Mother have been nominated as Best Documentary.
Ennio Morricone died at 92 in Rome. Winner of 2 Oscars, thanks
to his soundtracks he also won 3 Grammy Awards, 4 Golden Globes, 6 Baftas, 10
David di Donatello, 11 Silver Ribbons, 2 European Film Awards, the Golden Lion
for Lifetime Achievement and the Polar Music Prize.
Terrence Malick-produced English-language costume drama The Book of Vision, directed by Italy’s Carlo Hintermann, will open the Venice Film Festival’s independently-run Critics’ Week

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences invited 819 artists and industry delegates as new members. Among them, 45% are women, 36% belong to ethnic minorities, 49% are non-American and come from 68 countries.
