Nanni Moretti’s Santiago, Italia won the Audience Award at the 6th edition of the Italian Film Festival Berlin, which wrapped up on November 17th. Over 3,000 viewers attended the screenings of the seven films in competition, the Q&As and collateral events that took place at the Kulturbrauerei in Berlin.

The business days “From Rome to Berlin” – organized by ANICA, Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, and ICE and aiming at encouraging Italo-German coproductions – have been a new addition this year. The event facilitated the meeting between Italian and German producers, distributors and industry delegates during two days of presentations and workshops.

The festival activities go on until December 21st with the tribute to Alice and Alba Rohrwacher curated by Christos Acrivulis and taking place in three different theatres – Kino, Lichtblick Kino, and Bundesplatz Kino. Another special event of this edition is the Calcutta concert on December 2nd at the Huxleys Neue Welt. In the first semester 2020, further presentations of Italian films will take place. The Italian Film Festival Berlin is organized by the Tuscia Film Fest in collaboration with the the Agenzia Nazionale del Turismo Enit, the Italian Institute of Culture in Berlin, Italian Embassy.
