The fourth edition of the Italian Film Festival in Malaga opens on September 17th, 2021. The program includes features, shorts and parallel activities, such as a three-day workshop on the cinematic practice and a talk with Goya-winning scriptwriter Marina Parés.

The event is patronized by the Italian Embassy and organized by the Honorary Consulate of Malaga, the University of Malaga and the Dante Alighieri Society. “Culture, which does not suffer from viruses, is actually a tool to overcome complicated moments, such as the pandemic, and it contributes to develop the Italo-Spanish relationships as in this specific case,” states Riccardo Guariglia, Italian Ambassador in Spain, in his video message for the festival opening.

In order to “combine both culture and safety”, the screenings are held both physically and virtually. This year’s theme is the family as an homage to Ettore Scola, whose film La famiglia (1987) will be screened during the event.
